Grand Seiko’s SBGP001 is part of the Heritage Collection, housed in a 40mm stainless steel case that is a slim 11.1mm thick and 46.2mm lug to lug, with a curved sapphire crystal and push down crown that provides 100m of water resistance. This watch case, known as the 44GS, is based on Seiko’s grammar of design, focused on flat, geometrically perfect surfaces polished to best reflect light. Grand Seiko is known for intricate dials and incredible casework utilizing Zaratsu polishing to create a mirror finish. This watch has a sunray champagne dial that provides wonderful light interplay, and an initial look belies the complexity and effort to create one of the most complex dials in the Grand Seiko catalog. A heat-blued steel seconds hand and caseback with the Grand Seiko lion add further visual interest. This Grand Seiko comes on a five-link polished and satin finished bracelet with a three-fold clasp and two half links to finely adjust the fit.
